MyStudio help

MyStudio is a music studio that runs in your web browser. Nothing is installed and nothing you play is uploaded.

Start in one minute

  1. Press ▶ (or Space) to hear the current pattern. Browsers only play sound after you click once on the page.
  2. Pick a demo groove (house, lo-fi, trance) to start from something that already sounds good.
  3. Click squares on the drum grid to add or remove hits; click the piano roll to add notes to the selected track.
  4. Change BPM and swing while it plays.

The keys play the instrument of the selected track. You can also click the on-screen piano.

MIDI keyboards

In Chrome or Edge, plug in a USB MIDI keyboard, press Enable MIDI and pick it as the Input; it plays the selected track. Pick an Output to send playback and your live notes to another app or synth. Safari and Firefox do not support Web MIDI.

Instruments and drums

Six synth instruments: bass, lead, pluck, pad, keys and bell. Six drum voices: kick, snare, clap, closed hat, open hat and tom. All sounds are made in your browser, so they work offline once the page has loaded.

Export

WAVan audio file of your song (choose how many loops). Use it in any audio player, video editor or DAW.
MIDI (.mid)the notes, for GarageBand, FL Studio, Ableton, Logic and others. Drums go on channel 10.
JSONthe whole project, to re-open later with Import.

Saving and privacy

Save keeps the project in this browser and stores a private copy on the server under a random id that only your browser knows. There is no public list of projects. Playing, recording and exporting all happen on your device.
